my tax system is simple: it's called the Blue Shell method. At the end of every day, we fuckin blow up the richest person and redistribute their wealth, until there's no more billionaires.
Sure, we could axe all the billionaires all at once, but I like imagining what they'd do to each other as they scrambled to duck out of first place.
HA! Love the name for this 😁
there is a more ethical solution called inheritance tax. the idea behind that is that you dont have to blow any beeing up at all. Trust me, nature will sure do its thing anyway. So why all the hate?
Billionaires are, in their current form, just a shiver away from pure evil.
These are individuals who could singlehandedly end hunger and homelessness for entire countries.
These are individuals who could pay every student loan simultaneously and still make a net profit year over year just on money sitting in the bank.
These are people willfully ignoring how their actions, both greed and hoarding, have caused measurable detriment and destructive financial shifts affecting an entire planet.
Of course they deserve to live in fear.
Literally all they would have to do to avoid the bad thing being suggested is to sacrifice their pride and peak competitiveness along with a functionally un-noticeable amount of pocket change.
But yeah, I mean, I guess you're free to sympathize with billionaires if the plight of millions of people is easy for you to ignore.
Because that is what billionaires do.
They are killing people through their actions and inactions.
They prey on the weak and profit from the poverty-stricken.
They affect the ability of *millions* to afford food and shelter in provably detrimental ways.
They exacerbate gross income inequality.
And their destructive influence disproportionately affects the marginalized.
What is an appropriate fate for *literal* monsters in an "ethical" society, pray tell?
@zem you know what? you're correct. I do hate billionaires. quite passionately. I firmly believe that in order to class a billion dollars, one has to be thoroughly evil -- most of that money was presumably stolen through wage slavery.
every single person who dies of starvation while billionaires exist is a death on their hands. and need I remind you that 100 companies are responsible for 70% of climate change, or that we could power the US on a nevada desert solar farm if we gave a shit.
@zem "blowing them up" is mildly hyperbolic for a joke, but I do support the guillotine
@jacethechicken I love this!
@jacethechicken do they get to live in a "Big Brother"-like reality TV situation?
@jacethechicken hear me out
What if we put all of the money into a cannon
